IRCS Conducts Extensive Relief Operations Amid US-Israeli Invasion of Iran

Tehran: The Head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced the successful completion of 6,000 relief operations during the recent US-Israeli invasion of Iran. These operations resulted in the rescue of 7,200 individuals trapped under rubble caused by enemy missile strikes.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pirhossein Kolivand, speaking on the anniversary of the founding of the IRCS, revealed that 140,528 civilian sites suffered damage ranging from 15 to 20 percent due to the attacks. This included over 123,000 residential buildings. Kolivand also reported significant damage to 350 medical facilities, which encompassed pharmacies, hospitals, and health centers.

The invasion left a profound impact on educational institutions as well, with 32 universities and nearly 993 educational centers and schools targeted, including a girls' primary school in the southern city of Minab. The IRCS chief further disclosed that 56 Red Crescent centers were directly affected by enemy fire.

Kolivand emphasized the IRCS's commitment to international advocacy by documenting violations of humanitarian law from the onset of the conflict. These records have been submitted to prominent international bodies, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
