Tehran: Commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Esmaeil Qaani has congratulated Khalil al-Hayya, the new head of Hamas political bureau, on his appointment.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the message from General Qaani emphasized the significance of electing a leader who represents resistance and martyrdom, highlighting the steadfast commitment of Hamas to the path of Islamic Resistance. The message further asserted that despite the crimes committed by the Zionist regime, it has failed to halt the resistance, which continues to grow stronger and more determined.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has officially announced the election of Khalil al-Hayya as the new head of its political bureau. He succeeds the former head, Yahya Sinwar, who was martyred on October 16, 2024, after serving for just over two months since August 6, 2024. Sinwar had taken over from Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated on July 31, 2024.
