Isfahan: Hossein Jaberi Ansari, the CEO of the Islamic Republic News Agency, has stressed the need for vigilance in the ongoing media war with the enemy. While the military conflict may have officially ended, it continues on various other fronts, which requires vigilance especially in the media sector, Jaberi Ansari said on Sunday night while addressing a group of officials of the provincial governorship of Isfahan Province.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the comments were made in reference to the war of aggression Israel launched on Iran on June 13, which was met by a powerful military response from the Iranian Armed Forces. The United States entered the war on June 22, two days ahead of a ceasefire that ended the 12-day conflict.
Although the 12-day war against the Islamic Republic has ceased, battles are actively being waged in other arenas, including media, psychological, political, diplomatic, intelligence, and security fronts, said the IRNA chief. The objective of the campaigns is to undermine Iran’s deterrence capabilities and weaken its strengths, which requires all relevant institutions across the country to shoulder heavier responsibilities, he added.
Jaberi Ansari particularly called on news agencies to act with vigilance in portraying reality, especially in counteracting the enemy’s media operations that aim to project a weakening image of Iran. The strategic plans, he said, are foreseen at the official news agency of Iran, IRNA.
He advised officials and media outlets to prepare for the worst-case scenarios and potential conflicts. To counter the plots of enemies, Ansari urged news outlets to deliver both hopeful messages to the public while simultaneously maintaining readiness for possible crises.
The IRNA chief also referred to the national solidarity and unity demonstrated during the 12-day war with Israel, saying that it created a form of social deterrence against the enemy’s attacks. As part of his two-day visit to Isfahan, which began on Saturday, Jaberi Ansari also held meetings with local journalists and veteran media professionals.
