Lamerd:Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Hossein Jaberi-Ansari, paid tribute to martyrs in Lamerd, Fars Province, upon his arrival on Tuesday morning.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Jaberi-Ansari visited the central cemetery of the southern Fars city to honor those who lost their lives during the US-Israeli-imposed war, also referred to as the Ramadan War, earlier this year.
His schedule in Lamerd includes visiting areas affected by enemy strikes, meeting with the families of martyrs, and inspecting the region's economic and industrial capabilities. Following this, he plans to travel to Larestan County to assess war-impacted areas there.
Additionally, Jaberi-Ansari's agenda includes a pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Shah Chirag (AS), visiting the Shiraz Expo 2026, meeting with provincial officials, and holding a session with IRNA reporters and veterans in Shiraz.
On February 28, Lamerd was targeted on the first day of the second US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran in less than a year. The missile attacks hit several residential areas, including a sports complex, resulting in numerous casualties, among them children.
