Beirut: Israel has carried out an air strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs, Lebanese media said, marking the latest cross-border attack despite a ceasefire arrangement between Israel and Lebanon.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the strike hit the Dahiyeh district, a stronghold of Hezbollah, as reported by Al-Akhbar newspaper. This incident signifies a new escalation in Israel’s recent aerial operations. Lebanese sources indicated that one person was killed and three others were wounded in the attack.

Israel’s Army Radio stated that the strike targeted Abu Ali Tabatabai, who is described as the number-two figure in Hezbollah. However, the group has not confirmed whether he was among those killed.
