ZAGREB: Rabbi Younes Hamami-Lalehzar, the religious leader of Iranian Jews, emphasized that Jews are considered an integral part of Iranian culture and history. He made these remarks during the third round of dialogue between Iran and Croatia, which is currently underway in Zagreb. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting focused on sharing experiences in religious dialogue between the Islamic Republic and Croatia. Rabbi Hamami-Lalehzar highlighted the importance of sessions on peaceful coexistence among monotheistic religions, suggesting they can foster societal and cultural progress. He noted the history of Jews in ancient Iran spans over 2,700 years, and through strong cultural and social ties, they have become an essential part of Iran's culture and history. Rabbi Hamami-Lalehzar underscored that the Jewish community has experienced all significant events in the country alongside their Iranian compatriots. The initial meeting under the theme of peace and peaceful coexistence among monothei stic religions took place in Zagreb in May 2009. Subsequently, the second round was held in Tehran in 2017. The ongoing dialogue in Zagreb, which commenced on November 4, is scheduled to conclude today.
