Tehran: Ali-Akbar Velayati, international affairs adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has extended congratulations to Mohsen Rezaei on his recent appointment as secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). Velayati emphasized that Rezaei's strategic outlook and revolutionary spirit are expected to contribute significantly to the protection of Iran's security and national interests.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Velayati shared his views in a message on his social media account, where he highlighted the importance of appointing individuals with substantial experience in challenging management roles, especially during times of significant geopolitical shifts both regionally and globally. Velayati noted that his association with Rezaei dates back to the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, during which both served the nation in various capacities while maintaining a unified goal.
Velayati expressed confidence in Rezaei's abilities, rooted in their longstanding friendship and professional collaboration, to effectively safeguard Iran's national interests. Furthermore, Velayati extended his best wishes to Brigadier General Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, who has assumed the position of political advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. He acknowledged Zolghadr's valuable experience across multiple fields over the years.
