Tehran: The trade exchanges between Iran and the UAE via the Port of Jebel Ali, one of the most important ports in the southern Persian Gulf, have been resumed, an official in Iran's Trade Promotion Organization says. Speaking in an exclusive interview with IRNA on Saturday, Deputy Head of Iran Trade Promotion Organization for Commercial Services Mohammad Sadegh Ghannadzadeh highlighted the significance of the Port of Jebel Ali as a crucial transit hub for trade between the UAE and Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the majority of trade with Iran was traditionally conducted through this route. However, the trade activities had come to a standstill due to the recent US-Israeli-imposed war against Iran, which halted the shipping and transit of goods through this port. Ghannadzadeh pointed out reports of a backlog of Iranian containers at the port, as traders faced challenges in clearing their goods over the past months.

Following the restoration of peace in the region, there is now a movement of goods and containers from the Port of Jebel Ali to Iran. Ghannadzadeh expressed optimism about the gradual resumption of trade at a moderate pace, with hopes of returning to the normal trading conditions that existed before the conflict.
