Tehran: Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, has issued a strong condemnation of the recent terrorist attacks in Mali, which have led to significant loss of life, including the country's Defense Minister, General Sadio Camara.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei, in a statement on Monday, decried the attacks that occurred in various regions of Mali. The violence resulted in the deaths of General Sadio Camara, his family members, and numerous civilians, including worshippers at a mosque located in Kati, near the capital city of Bamako.

Baqaei expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and extended his sympathies to both the government and the people of Mali. He also wished a swift recovery for those injured during these tragic events.

Highlighting Iran's firm policy against terrorism and violent extremism, Baqaei emphasized that combating these threats is a global responsibility demanding cooperation and coordination among nations. He underscored the necessity of ongoing efforts against those who perpetrate, organize, support, and finance terrorist activities.

Baqaei voiced his belief that the Malian people, through unity and solidarity, will be able to overcome the challenges posed by terrorism and those who support it.
