Mazandaran: President Masoud Pezeshkian inaugurates 158 projects of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development in Mazandaran province worth about 23 trillion tomans, during an online ceremony marking Government Week. The projects were inaugurated simultaneously through a video conference with Pezeshkian, while the main ceremony was held at Noshahr Port.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mohammad Shakibaei-Nasab, the managing director of the Ports and Maritime Organization, stated that the projects were designed to expand transportation infrastructure, improve public welfare, and strengthen Mazandaran's economic capacity. Two domestically built multipurpose maritime search-and-rescue vessels were launched in the maritime sector at a cost of more than 4.3 trillion rials. Shakibaei-Nasab mentioned that the vessels will enhance maritime search-and-rescue capabilities and improve the safety of maritime operations.
Meanwhile, four advanced marine loading arms were inaugurated at Amirabad and Noshahr ports. Shakibaei-Nasab explained that the equipment was designed and manufactured for loading and unloading petroleum products, with more than 2.4 trillion rials spent on the project. Additionally, the approximately 3.5-kilometer road connecting Kolahduz-Kala to Kohneh-Kala in the Amirabad Port area was opened at a cost of more than 2 trillion rials. Shakibaei-Nasab noted that the road will improve access to Amirabad Port and strengthen transportation infrastructure in the surrounding area.
In the housing sector, 4,810 residential units were inaugurated, including 1,915 urban and 2,895 rural units, with an investment of about 18 trillion tomans. A total of 150 plots of land were also allocated to applicants under a government program supporting families and population growth. Other projects included 11 kilometers of transportation routes, a 40-kilometer drainage, surface-water collection, and sewage network at Sari Airport, and a weather station and meteorological buoy at Noshahr Port. These projects were completed with investments of more than 2 trillion, 1.137 trillion, and 18 billion tomans, respectively.
Meanwhile, 146 projects to eliminate accident-prone areas and improve roads across the province were completed with more than 1.68 trillion tomans in investment. Shakibaei-Nasab emphasized that maritime and port infrastructure remained a key priority in Mazandaran. Reliance on domestic manufacturers is expected to improve safety and services, strengthen the maritime economy, and increase the operational capacity of the country's ports.
