President Pezeshkian Calls for Action to Rebuild Public Trust

Tehran:President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the need for officials to prioritize addressing public issues, suggesting that social trust would have remained intact if efforts had been directed towards resolving challenges rather than blaming others.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian made these remarks during the 10th National Conference on Islamic Spiritual Health. He highlighted that his actions are dedicated to serving God, with a focus on being accountable for his performance in office.

He advocated for a return to innate human values, or fitrah, which encompass aiding the oppressed, supporting the impoverished, and opposing injustice. Pezeshkian stressed that these values should be evident in actions rather than just words.

Pezeshkian noted that while Iran possesses science, knowledge, and expertise, it sometimes neglects to use these resources to alleviate people's hardships. He emphasized that God has endowed people with knowledge and skills to assist others and set an example for society.

Referencing Martyr Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti's book, "Right and Wrong from the Quranic Perspective," the president stated that individuals should be judged by their deeds, not just their words. He identified honesty, service, fairness, truth-seeking, and helping others as core expressions of Islam.

He cautioned that deceit, slander, and failing to assist others are incompatible with these principles, regardless of claims or media narratives. Pezeshkian also acknowledged existing shortcomings and called on officials to concentrate on serving the populace.
