Tehran: Iran's Acting Defense Minister Brigadier General Majid Ibn al-Reza has emphasized the critical role of the eight-year Sacred Defense in shaping the nation's self-reliance in defense capabilities. He described this period as more than a historical resistance; it was a formative era that instilled self-confidence, sacrifice, and responsibility, ultimately guiding Iran's defense strategies.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ibn al-Reza, in a message commemorating Sacred Defense Week, highlighted the era's significance in embodying the Iranian people's resolve to uphold the country's independence, dignity, and territorial integrity through faith, courage, unity, and resistance. He asserted that this experience underscored the necessity of safeguarding national security and interests, ensuring Iran remains vigilant against recent imposed wars.

Brigadier General Ibn al-Reza noted that a common thread throughout these periods is the Iranian people's unwavering determination to protect the nation and counter threats to its sovereignty. This enduring commitment has been transmitted across generations, now manifesting in Iran's homegrown scientific, technological, and defense advancements.
