Tehran: Chief of the South African National Defense Force, Rudzani Maphwanya, along with his delegation, visited the Army Command and Staff University of Iran (DAFOOS) in Tehran. During the visit, Maphwanya engaged in discussions with Second Brigadier General Hossein Valivand-Zamani, the Commander of DAFOOS.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Valivand-Zamani expressed appreciation for South Africa’s stance against the Israeli regime, highlighting the pride it brings to him and his colleagues. He thanked the South African government and its people for their support of Gaza and expressed hope that the visit would initiate military relations between Iran and South Africa. Valivand-Zamani also outlined DAFOOS’s mission, which includes admitting students from various countries, and expressed eagerness to welcome South African students in the upcoming academic term starting in September.

General Maphwanya conveyed his gratitude for the hospitality received at DAFOOS and acknowledged the university’s advanced academic capabilities. He expressed enthusiasm for establishing military cooperation with DAFOOS. Additionally, Maphwanya criticized the Israeli regime’s actions, reaffirming South Africa’s condemnation of Israel’s violations of sovereignty and its aggression against Iran.
