Tehran: Local tourists have returned to the shores of Lake Urmia following years of drought. Thousands of nature enthusiasts recently gathered along the water's edge to enjoy the lake's remarkable, if partial, revival.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, favorable rainfall in recent months has increased the lake's surface area by more than 2,100 square kilometers compared to the same period last year, and its depth has also risen by up to 90 centimeters.
