Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has described the US-Israeli war against Iran as a defining battle between 'good and evil,' urging people around the world to reject 'barbarism and domination' and stand with justice, peace, and human dignity.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei stated in a lengthy post on X that the United States and Israel launched 'this war of aggression' against Iran on February 28, 2026, while Tehran and Washington were engaged in diplomatic negotiations. Addressing 'every decent human being' regardless of religion, ethnicity, nationality, or race, the Iranian spokesperson described the war as more than a geopolitical dispute, stating it would determine whether 'human rights, the rule of law, and basic morality' survive in the future.
Baqaei emphasized that the conflict is not merely about land, resources, or geopolitics, but rather a battle that will define the concepts of 'good' and 'evil' for current and future generations. He accused the US and Israel of systematically violating international law and targeting civilians, claiming they 'murder for sport' and attack civilian sites to test weapons capabilities. He contrasted Iran's efforts to protect innocent lives with the 'lies' and 'moral compromise' of its enemies.
The Iranian spokesperson highlighted the nation's defense of their homeland and dignity, relying on their own strength and resolve. He warned against a descent into 'lawlessness and subjugation' and urged global citizens to oppose the war. Baqaei called for moral courage, asking individuals to speak out and act to be on the right side of history against 'barbarism and domination.'
The conflict began when the United States and Israel initiated a war of aggression against Iran, marked by the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several top military commanders. Additionally, a school in Minab, southern Iran, was targeted, resulting in the deaths of numerous elementary school children. In retaliation, the Iranian Armed Forces carried out 100 waves of attacks over 40 days, targeting US and Israeli military assets, causing significant damage.
