US Never Found Diversion in Iran’s Peaceful Nuclear Activities, Aref Tells UN Chief

Awaza: First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref says Iran remains committed to international laws and regulations, emphasizing that the United States sided with the Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic even though it has never concluded that Iran is pursuing non-peaceful nuclear activities.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref met and held discussions with United Nations Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres on the sidelines of the Third Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries, held in Awaza, Turkmenistan. During their meeting, Aref addressed the military aggression of the Israeli regime against Iran, asserting Iran’s adherence to international laws. He pointed out that despite Iran’s compliance, the US supported Israel in its aggression against Iran.

Aref stressed Iran’s consistent willingness to cooperate with the United Nations to promote global peace and called on the UN to condemn the Iranophobia spread by Western nations. He warned that such aggressive acts against various nations could lead to recurring regional instability, highlighting the tragedies currently unfolding in Palestine and Gaza.

In his remarks, Aref described the situation in Gaza as barbaric and savage, urging the UN to take more effective measures to deter the Zionist regime and increase its support to those affected by the conflict.

Guterres responded by emphasizing that the attacks by Israel and the US on Iran violated international law. He underscored the importance of adhering to international norms and maintaining the ceasefire. Guterres also called for resolving Iran’s nuclear program through diplomatic means, offering UN resources to assist in achieving a peaceful resolution.
