Vice President Calls for Prioritizing Postwar Reconstruction in Iran

Tehran: First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref has described reconstruction as the most important national priority, following the 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime and the United States. In a meeting with managers from the National Development Group Investment Company on Monday, Aref said that Iran must ‘demonstrate its ability to rebuild all postwar sectors.’

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref called on the country’s economic sectors to prioritize their social responsibility over corporate interests by focusing on the resettlement of those affected by the war. He emphasized the flawless performance of the economic front during the conflict and mentioned that the administration had prepared a war economy plan early in its term, anticipating reduced oil revenues.

Aref also cautioned against trusting Israel or the United States in the aftermath of the ceasefire, highlighting that there is no guarantee of their promises due to ‘global arrogance’s’ longstanding agenda against the Islamic establishment. He pointed out that the Iranian nation has once again thwarted attempts to create discord between the people and the government.

He praised the swift and punitive response to aggressors by the Iranian Armed Forces, stating that the country effectively utilized past experiences, particularly from the eight years of sacred defense. Aref expressed his appreciation for the Armed Forces’ achievements, underscoring their success in defeating the Israeli regime despite the loss of some top commanders and scientists who played a crucial role in establishing the country’s defense capabilities.
