Tehran:According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Yemen's armed forces have successfully thwarted an attempt by Saudi-backed forces to advance toward their positions in the eastern al-Jawf province. The Yemeni forces destroyed military equipment and inflicted casualties, killing or wounding dozens of mercenaries during the confrontation.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, speaking on al-Masirah television, reported that the Saudi-backed forces were targeted as they moved toward positions held by Yemen's armed forces. The operation resulted in a large number of military vehicles being set ablaze.

In addition to the initial engagement, the remaining Saudi-backed forces were chased through the al-Jawf desert. Yemeni forces also targeted gatherings of these forces with several ballistic missiles and drones.

These clashes occur amid a broader escalation in fighting between Yemen's armed forces and Saudi-backed units across various regions of the country.
