The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has thwarted, at Jeddah Islamic Port, an attempt to smuggle 2,414,489 Captagon pills found hidden in one of the consignments arriving in the Kingdom.ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to have six individuals who were supposed to receive the consignments arrested.ZATCA reaffirmed its commitment to intensify customs control of the Kingdom's imports and exports, stressing that it will stay vigilant to thwart smuggling attempts and ensure the safety of the society.It urges the public to contribute to combating smuggling by contacting the authority at the designated number for security reports, 1910, via e-mail: [email protected], or through the international number 00966114208417.Through these channels, ZATCA receives reports concerning smuggling and violations of the provisions of the Common Customs Law, that it treats with utmost confidentiality.
