SANAA: In a recent address, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen's Ansarullah movement, commended the late General Qasem Soleimani for his significant contributions in supporting the Palestinian people and criticized recent Israeli actions in Gaza. Al-Houthi's statements come amid escalating tensions in the region, with rising concerns over the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, al-Houthi began his speech by congratulating the Islamic Ummah and the Yemeni nation on the arrival of the holy month of Rajab. He then highlighted General Soleimani's role, emphasizing the late general's support for the Palestinian people and fighters. Al-Houthi accused Israel of heinous acts, including the burning and destruction of the Kamal Adavan hospital in Gaza, and condemned the use of famine as a tool against the population.
Al-Houthi further criticized the Israeli strategy of designating safe areas in flood-prone regions and near the sea, which he claims endangers the lives of Gaza's residents. He described ongoing forced migration and evacuations in northern Gaza as part of Israel's broader strategy against the Palestinian people.
In his address, al-Houthi also condemned the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and described the Palestinian Authority's attempts to negotiate peace with Israel as futile. He argued that the Israeli government, backed by its legislative body, the Knesset, is determined to prevent the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Al-Houthi lamented the century-long suffering of the Palestinian people under occupation and criticized the Palestinian Authority for contributing to internal conflicts within the West Bank. He emphasized the need for unity among Palestinians in their struggle for freedom and independence.
