Araghchi Holds Phone Calls with Dutch and Egyptian Counterparts to Discuss Regional Issues

Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi engaged in phone conversations with his Dutch counterpart, Tom Berendsen, and Egyptian counterpart, Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty, to discuss ongoing regional issues and diplomatic developments. These discussions come at a critical time as tensions continue to fluctuate in the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi and Berendsen exchanged views on bilateral relations and the latest developments in regional diplomacy. The conversation covered multiple areas of mutual concern and aimed to strengthen ties between Iran and the Netherlands.

In a separate phone call, Araghchi reviewed the latest regional developments with Abdelatty. Their discussion focused on issues related to the ongoing diplomatic processes between Iran and the United States, with Pakistan playing a mediation role. This conversation highlights the complex dynamics involving multiple countries in ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Iran has formally presented its response to Pakistani mediators regarding the latest US proposal aimed at ending the aggression against the country. A source familiar with the situation confirmed this development, emphasizing the role of Pakistan in brokering a ceasefire between Tehran and Washington on April 8. This ceasefire halted nearly 40 days of joint aggression by the US and Israel against Iran.

Subsequent talks took place in Islamabad but did not result in a significant breakthrough, leaving the situation in a state of uncertainty. The phone calls between Araghchi and his counterparts underscore the importance of continued dialogue and negotiation in addressing regional tensions and diplomatic challenges.
