Tehran: An Iranian official has revealed that civilians made up 45 percent of the fatalities in the recent US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, highlighting the significant impact on non-combatants.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Jamshid Nazmi, an advisor at Iran's Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, reported that 3,468 people were killed in the conflict that began on February 28. Of these, 1,460 were civilians, comprising women, men, children, and the elderly who were not present at military sites during the attacks.
Nazmi, speaking at a press conference, emphasized the severe impact of the violence on the Iranian population and noted that the civilian casualties had garnered international attention. He discussed the robust public support for Iran's Armed Forces, with national solidarity reflecting backing for the country's defense efforts.
