Makkah: Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) Eng. Fahd Al-Jalajel inaugurated the annual parade of the Red Crescent fleet with the health sector participation for Hajj season 1445 AH at Arafat helipad.
During the parade, the health minister reviewed the authority’s fleet participating in this year’s Hajj, which includes ambulances, environmentally friendly electric ambulances, rapid response units consisting of motorcycles and electric bikes, specialized units such as the ambulance bus and vehicles for specific emergency responses, as well as smaller units that are flexible for accessing narrow areas like golf carts, electric vehicles, electric bikes, scooters, and the air ambulance fleet participating in Hajj, consisting of seven helicopters operating from several helipads in the holy sites.
The SRCA official spokesperson, Dr. Yousef Alsofayan, explained that the authority works during this Hajj season with over 692 ground and air units partic
ipating in emergency operations. These fleets enhance emergency medical services for the pilgrims, enabling paramedics and doctors to perform their duties efficiently through rapid response and swift transport to health facilities across the holy sites and the surrounding areas. He affirmed that the authority is fully prepared to contribute to the pilgrims completing their Hajj smoothly and peacefully within an integrated healthcare system for their benefit and safety.
