Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Saturday that Tehran is firm in its stance of not making concessions, emphasizing the urgency of moving past the current no war, no peace situation, as reported by Anadolu Ajansi, which cited local media.

According to Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty, Pezeshkian mentioned that Iranian officials are engaged in nearly daily discussions aimed at resolving the situation and reaching an understanding that would uphold Iran's principles and values while deterring adversaries from considering another attack. He highlighted that war is not a solution, and the ongoing uncertainty regarding the possibility of resumed conflict is negatively impacting the nation's economy.

Pezeshkian noted that as long as the threat of renewed conflict looms, attracting investment would remain challenging. He emphasized the importance of overcoming the situation through logical means while maintaining Iran's strength. The president also defended a recent memorandum with the United States, clarifying that it does not entail any form of capitulation or require Tehran to make concessions.

In June, Iran and the US signed the memorandum of understanding, with mediation from Pakistan and Qatar, to end hostilities that commenced in February and to initiate negotiations towards a final agreement. However, talks have stalled due to disputes over the memorandum's implementation and issues concerning navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil and gas exports.
