Iran’s Acting Defense Minister Refutes Trump’s Claim on Strait of Hormuz

Tehran: Iran's acting defense minister has dismissed Donald Trump's recent claim that the Strait of Hormuz is US territory, stating that the American president 'talks too much.'

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Seyyed Majid Ibn al-Reza, acting minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, emphasized Iran's reliance on its young people and domestic expertise. He expressed hope that the country would overcome the current situation by stating, "We rely on the Iranian youth and Iranian knowledge, and God willing, may God help us overcome this issue."

In a response to Trump's assertion that "the Strait of Hormuz is our territory," Ibn al-Reza remarked, "He talks too much." Trump's comments were made during an election rally in South Carolina on Friday night, where he reiterated his conflicting remarks about Iran, suggesting, "They want to make a deal so badly; we don't even know if we want [a deal] because I view the Strait of Hormuz as an American territory."
