Tel Aviv: Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has announced that Israeli army troops will continue their presence in certain areas of the occupied West Bank, specifically those densely populated by Palestinian refugees, until at least the end of the year. The areas highlighted include the quarters in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams.
According to Deutsche Welle, Katz made his remarks on X, where he described these areas as "hotbeds of terror." He claimed that these regions had been used as a front against Israel with support from Iran. Katz's statement follows a large-scale military operation conducted by the Israeli military in these regions.
Katz further noted that the operation had successfully diminished the threat of terror activities within the camps. He asserted, "there is no more terror in the camps today," indicating the effectiveness of the military's actions in these areas. The continued military presence aims to maintain this state of security and prevent any resurgence of hostile activities in the region.
