Geneva: Chairman of the Legal and Judicial Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Sargazi, has criticized the international community for its failure to respond to the aggression of the Israeli regime against Iran, stating that such inaction has resulted in the loss of many lives.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Sargazi, who traveled to Geneva with an Iranian delegation to participate in the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, spoke during a session focused on ‘the human rights impacts of the 12-day attack on Iran by the United States and the Zionist regime.’ He commented on the actions taken by the Israeli regime during its 12-day military aggression against Iran, stating that these actions violated numerous principles of international law and damaged the credibility of international law.
Sargazi noted that the 12-day attack on Iran took place while the Israeli regime has been involved in occupation in the region for over 80 years, imposed by extra-regional powers. He highlighted that the occupation by this regime has not ended, with at least half of the countries in the region affected by its occupations, aggressions, and sabotage.
He further emphasized that the pursuits of the Israeli regime in the region will not lead to peace and stability, but rather result in more loss of life and increasing destruction daily. Sargazi, along with Forouzanedeh Vadiati, Director-General of Women and Human Rights Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are part of the Iranian delegation accompanying Naser Seraj, Deputy Chief of International Affairs of the Judiciary and Secretary of the High Council for Human Rights.
The 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council began on September 8th and will continue until October 8th in Geneva, Switzerland.
