Tehran: A delegation of the BRICS Youth Council will travel to Tehran as part of an educational program to familiarize Iranian youth with the values and goals of the organization. Diana Kovala, a member of the BRICS Youth Council, made the revelation in an interview with TASS news agency on Sunday. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the idea of organizing this educational trip originated in 2024 when Russia held the presidency of BRICS. Kovala, who is the project manager, stated that they have already visited India as a mission and plan to visit several other countries in 2025, including Iran, UAE, and Egypt. Kovala emphasized the importance of these trips, noting, "Following the BRICS statement in Kazan, we need to travel to member countries for educational purposes." The director highlighted the success of the group's educational trip to India and stressed the significance of informing the youth of member countries about the principles and values of BRICS. The BRICS Youth Council, established in 2023, originated from the initiative of delegates attending the IX BRICS Youth Summit in South Africa. Russia is currently holding the rotating one-year presidency of the BRICS grouping, which includes Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iran, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. The 16th BRICS Summit took place in November 2024, with leaders from member countries, including Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, participating in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, Russia. Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates joined the bloc in early 2024.
