Hormozgan: The Committee to Investigate the Causes of the Fire Incident in Shahid Rajaee Port stated on Monday evening that after several meetings with experts, it concluded that "the failure to observe safety principles and passive defense standards was confirmed to committee members." According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the committee noted discrepancies in some cases, with security and judicial bodies actively working to identify those responsible. The investigation requires a detailed examination of various aspects, involving technical and laboratory processes. However, the steps are being pursued promptly, and the final results will be shared with the public as soon as possible. Earlier today, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni attributed the massive explosion and fire to "negligence." The powerful blast occurred on April 26, 2025, when a fuel tanker detonated, igniting a large fire that was extinguished earlier today. Officials from Hormozgan, the location of Shahid Rajaee Port, reported that th e death toll from the incident has risen to 70. Cleanup operations and debris removal are expected to take approximately 20 days.
