Iran’s Education Minister Engages with Tajik and Turkish Ambassadors on Educational Cooperation


TEHRAN: Iran’s Education Minister, Alireza Kazemi, conducted two separate meetings with the ambassadors of Tajikistan and Turkey to address educational challenges and explore avenues for strengthening cultural ties between Iran and its neighboring countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, citing the government information website, Kazemi met with Tajikistan’s Ambassador, Nizamuddin Zahedi, in Tehran. Kazemi highlighted the Persian language as a significant commonality, along with cultural, historical, and traditional links between the two nations. He proposed the establishment of a joint committee to swiftly address the issues surrounding the opening of Rudaki School in Tajikistan, emphasizing cooperation and mutual understanding. The Iranian minister assured that educational services for Tajik students in Iran would continue without disruption.

Zahedi expressed gratitude for the meeting and emphasized the pivotal role of education in societal development. He acknowledged the existing cultural,
historical, and religious ties and noted the positive cooperation between the two countries, citing several signed agreements, including those from the Joint Economic and Trade Commissions. He addressed the legal challenges facing the Rudaki School project concerning ownership, textbook content, and management, assuring that these issues would be resolved promptly.

In a separate meeting on the same day, Kazemi hosted Turkish Ambassador Hicabi Kirlangic. They discussed issues affecting Iranian students and teachers in Turkey, highlighting the cultural connections and mutual support between the two countries. Kazemi underscored the importance of resolving these challenges through collaboration with Turkish authorities and pledged to provide necessary facilities for Turkish students in Iran. He also mentioned the signed Memorandums of Understanding aimed at enhancing educational cooperation.

Kirlangic praised the strengthening ties between Iran and Turkey, emphasizing the importance of facilitating this relati
onship. He expressed satisfaction with the functioning of the Turkish school in Iran, indicating the positive educational exchanges between the two countries.
