Khaji: Senior Advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Asghar Khaji, in a meeting with Geir Pedersen, the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Syria, strongly condemned the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the continuation of the Zionist regime's aggression against Lebanon and Syria. He stated that the occupying regime's military aggression against Syria poses a serious threat to peace and stability in that country and the region. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Khaji discussed the latest developments related to the political, field, and humanitarian conditions of the region and Syria in a meeting with Pedersen. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 22nd round of international meetings of senior experts on the Astana process in Kazakhstan's capital. In addition to condemning the ongoing genocide in Gaza and continued aggression against Lebanon and Syria, Khaji reiterated that the Zionist regime's military actions are a significant threat to regional stability. He also highlighte d Iran's readiness to assist in establishing peace in Syria and stressed the importance of a proactive approach by the United Nations and its institutions, particularly the Security Council, to halt the crimes and peace violations by the Zionist regime. Khaji further called for the mobilization of international resources to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza and Lebanon. Meanwhile, Pedersen, the UN Special Envoy for Syrian Affairs, expressed concern over the escalating tensions in the region. He emphasized the necessity of funding for Syrian and Lebanese refugees and advancing political processes in Syria, such as convening the Constitutional Committee meetings.
