Tehran: Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has stated that political relations between Iran and Tajikistan are currently in their 'best shape.' This declaration was made following a meeting with Tajikistan's Prime Minister, Qaher Rasulzoda, at the historical Sa'adabad Complex located in northern Tehran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref shared insights into the meeting's focus, particularly on enhancing economic ties between the two nations. Rasulzoda's visit to Tehran is part of a high-ranking delegation's mission with dual objectives: strengthening bilateral relations and attending the Third Caspian Sea Economic Conference.

Aref emphasized that discussions with the Tajik Prime Minister centered primarily on economic collaboration. Both leaders concurred that the Iranian and Tajik economies could effectively 'complement' each other. Aref highlighted Iran's capability to fulfill Tajikistan's needs across various sectors.

Rasulzoda conveyed optimism that the cooperation agreements signed during Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's visit to Tajikistan in January would facilitate further expansion of bilateral cooperation.
