Geneva: Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi, has reported that creative and positive ideas were exchanged between the Iranian and US delegations during their talks in Geneva. In a post on his X account on Thursday, al-Busaidi expressed optimism, stating, "We've been exchanging creative and positive ideas in Geneva today, and now both US and Iranian negotiators have adjourned for a break." He further mentioned that the discussions would resume later that day with hopes for further progress.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the negotiations are being conducted indirectly through the mediation of the Omani foreign minister. This marks the third round of such talks, following previous negotiations held on February 6 and 17 in Muscat and Geneva, respectively, which were also facilitated indirectly by al-Busaidi. The discussions are part of ongoing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US, as tensions rise with Washington increasing its military presence in the region near Iran's borders and threatening military action if a deal cannot be reached.
Before leaving Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi shared his outlook in an exclusive interview with India Today, stating that "a fair, balanced, and equitable deal is achievable." The outcome of these talks is being closely watched as both nations seek a diplomatic resolution.
