Iran and Kazakhstan Commit to Expanding Trade Relations to $3 Billion

Tehran: Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadegh, and Kazakhstan's Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliyev, have expressed their determination to enhance bilateral trade, setting a target of $3 billion.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during a meeting with Shakkaliyev, Sadegh reiterated both nations' dedication to bolstering their relationship. Her visit was aimed at implementing agreements made during the Iranian president's recent visit to Kazakhstan. Sadegh pointed out that constructing a logistics and transit terminal for Kazakhstan at Iran's Shahid Rajaei Port is a primary focus of their partnership, with the contract for this initiative already finalized and awaiting signing.

Shakkaliyev emphasized the significance of Iran-Kazakhstan relations, stating that while the current trade volume stands at $3 million, directives from their respective presidents aim to increase this to $3 billion. He also mentioned a strategic cooperation roadmap and the readiness of Kazakhstan's private sector to participate in joint ventures, underlining Kazakhstan's commitment to strengthening economic ties with Iran.
