New York: Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani, has firmly dismissed accusations from the United States and the United Kingdom concerning Iran's involvement in the Ukraine conflict and regional destabilization, labeling these claims as 'baseless'. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a letter addressed to Barbara Woodward, the President of the UN Security Council for November, Iravani emphasized that the US and UK cannot evade their responsibilities while supporting Israel's actions. He criticized their unwavering support for Israel, stating it perpetuates conflict and undermines the Security Council's mission to ensure international peace and security. Iravani reiterated Iran's stance on Ukraine, stating that it is clear, consistent, and unchanged, countering the allegations made by representatives from the two Western nations during a recent UN Security Council meeting. He accused the US and UK of attempting to deflect blame for their complicity in Israel 's military actions in Gaza and Lebanon by pointing fingers at Iran. The envoy highlighted that the US, through its political, military, and financial backing of Israel, is directly responsible for the destabilization of the region and the humanitarian crisis affecting civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. He pointed out that US-made weapons and its consistent vetoes of ceasefire resolutions in the Security Council have allowed Israel to act with impunity. Iravani also dismissed allegations from the UK's Foreign Minister, stating that the UK's historical and ongoing actions have contributed to instability in the region. He criticized the UK's role during the Mandate for Palestine and its continued support for Israel's actions, which he claims have resulted in the displacement and suffering of the Palestinian people. In conclusion, Iravani maintained that both the US and UK must acknowledge their roles in enabling Israel's actions and cannot escape responsibility while making unfounded accusatio ns against Iran.
