Iran’s Firepower Erodes Confidence in US Security Protection: Report

Tehran: Iran's recent display of military strength has led to a significant erosion of trust among regional states in the US security protection, according to a report from a UK-based media outlet. Describing the US and Israeli actions against Iran as 'illegal and unprovoked,' the report highlights the shift in the geopolitical landscape following Iran's unexpected military response.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Morning Star article outlines that the US and Israel's February strikes on Iran were aimed at establishing a new regional order dominated by Israel but controlled by the US. However, Iran's robust military response inflicted a substantial defeat on both nations, challenging the assumption of US dominance in the region.

The report indicates that Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz has emerged as a critical strategic advantage, with the potential to impact the global economy significantly. Although Iran has consistently disavowed intentions to develop nuclear weapons, its ability to close this vital waterway has been underscored as a formidable tool in its arsenal.

The conflict has also highlighted the diminishing confidence among regional countries in the US's capacity to provide reliable security support. The Morning Star points out that the erratic behavior of US President Donald Trump has further contributed to this decline in trust, exacerbating uncertainties about US commitments.

Despite longstanding assumptions about the US's military prowess and regional presence, Iran's capacity to target US assets with relative ease has prompted a reassessment among Persian Gulf nations. In response, countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan are reportedly collaborating to establish a regional security framework independent of US influence, likened to a 'Muslim NATO' by the Morning Star.
