Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi announced the visit during a weekly news briefing in Islamabad, emphasizing the purpose of Sharif's visit is to demonstrate Pakistan's solidarity with Iran on the occasion of the funeral procession for the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Pakistani prime minister's itinerary includes participation in the official ceremony in Tehran honoring Ayatollah Khamenei.
