Private Sector Urged to Take Initiative in Overcoming Economic Obstacles: Chamber Chief

Tehran: The head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture has called on the country’s private sector to take a more proactive role in shaping Iran’s economic future. He emphasized that the private sector should not wait for the administration to remove all obstacles.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Samad Hassanzadeh, speaking at the closing ceremony of the first meeting of governors from Caspian littoral provinces, asserted that as Iran becomes a central route for regional trade and production, “no power will be able to remove our country from the global economic equations.” He outlined a series of responsibilities that the private sector must assume to drive Iran’s economic development.

Hassanzadeh stressed the importance of collaboration between the private sector and the chambers of commerce with the administration to remove barriers affecting the nation’s economic progress. He identified key priorities, including training and empowering economic actors to meet the “strict standards of Eurasia,” building business cooperation networks with Eurasian companies, supporting the formation of organized export consortia, and maintaining consistent efforts to resolve “customs, standards and banking” issues.

He also emphasized the importance of promoting Iranian brands in the Eurasian market to strengthen Iran’s economic initiatives. Hassanzadeh reiterated the commitment of the private sector, business actors, provincial chambers, and the national chamber to stand beside the administration, the nation of Iran, and the people of the Caspian littoral countries as part of their duty toward the Iranian public.

Furthermore, he highlighted that Iran, aligning with the views of its leadership and administration, seeks friendly and close economic relations with all nations, especially neighboring countries. The Caspian governors’ meeting, he noted, aims to support these goals. He also pointed out that as neighbors with deep cultural affinities, the region’s states can expand cooperation in social, cultural, economic, and other fields.
