Qatar to Enhance Trade and Customs Relations with Iran: Envoy

Tehran: Qatar’s Ambassador to Tehran, Saad Abdullah Saad Al Mahmoud Al Shareef, has announced that Qatar is prepared to enhance and facilitate trade and customs exchanges with Iran. This statement was made during a meeting with Foroud Asgari, the Deputy Minister of Economy and head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), in Tehran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Al Mahmoud Al Shareef emphasized the strong cooperation between Iranian Customs and Qatar in the area of transit. He revealed that efforts are being made to finalize an electronic data exchange agreement between the customs administrations of Iran and Qatar in the near future. The ambassador also expressed gratitude for Iran’s support following the recent terrorist attack by the Israeli regime on Qatar.

In response, Foroud Asgari condemned the Israeli aggression against Qatar and stressed the friendly relations between Iran and Qatar. He outlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Customs Administration is focusing on enhancing customs relations with Qatar by working on the electronic exchange of data, facilitating and accelerating the entry of Iranian goods into Qatari ports, and organizing training courses and joint visits between the customs administrations of both countries.
