Defense Ministers of Iran and Turkey Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Defense Ties

Ankara: Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iran’s Defense Minister, visited Ankara following an official invitation from General Yasar Gler, Turkey’s Minister of National Defense. During the visit, the two officials engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing defense relations between the neighboring countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, General Nasirzadeh emphasized the significant cultural and religious commonalities shared by Iran and Turkey. He remarked that while differences exist, they are minor compared to the extensive shared values. He also noted that external forces have historically attempted to highlight these differences, potentially undermining the strong ties between the nations.

The Turkish Defense Minister highlighted the importance of the meeting, describing the visit as a clear symbol of the strong relationship between Iran and Turkey across various sectors. Both ministers expressed optimism that a closer defense partnership could effectively address regional challenges and strengthen mutual interests.
