Iran, Saudi Arabia to Shape Regional Future: Envoy

Riyadh: The Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alireza Enayati, has emphasized the importance of the strategic relations between Tehran and Riyadh, noting that Iran and Saudi Arabia will shape the future of the region. Enayati congratulated the King, the government, and the people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Saudi National Day on Tuesday.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the diplomat highlighted the significance of the strategic relations between Tehran and Riyadh, describing them as a model for regional cooperation and a guarantee of security and sustainable development in West Asia. He noted the remarkable progress made in bilateral relations in a short period, stating, ‘Through the firm resolve of both countries, we have achieved results beyond expectations and covered a long journey in a very brief time.’

Referring to the ongoing high-level meetings between Iranian and Saudi officials, Enayati said, ‘The regular visits from the President, the First Vice President, the Foreign and Defense Ministers, and the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council to Riyadh, along with telephone consultations between the foreign ministers of both countries, clearly demonstrate a shared commitment to enhancing and strengthening relations.’

He further noted, ‘Today, thanks to the wise policies of their leaders, Iran and Saudi Arabia are recognized as two key poles in the region, sharing numerous commonalities. Both countries are not only focused on bilateral relations but are also striving to establish regional peace and security through cooperation and coordination, to ensure the development and stability of the region.’

Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated the King, the Crown Prince, and the people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Saudi National Day. Pezeshkian said that various commonalities between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can further strengthen the friendship of the two Muslim nations.
