New york: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held talks with his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, avenues for cooperation, as well as regional and international developments.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, issues related to peace and global security, including the conflict in Ukraine and the situation in West Asia, were also reviewed. Araghchi criticized the approaches taken by the three European countries on Iran’s nuclear issue, stressing the need for all parties to act responsibly and avoid complicating the situation further.

He strongly condemned the recent Israeli and US acts of aggression against Iran, including attacks targeting the country’s peaceful nuclear facilities. Araghchi described these actions as an unprecedented violation of international law and a dangerous indication of the dominance of ‘the law of the jungle’ in global relations.

The minister also called on all nations to uphold the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter. Araghchi arrived in New York on Monday at the head of a diplomatic delegation to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. During his stay, Araghchi will join President Masoud Pezeshkian at the General Assembly, attend related UN meetings, and outline Iran’s positions on key issues on the agenda.
