IRGC Deputy Commander Claims Quick Surrender of Enemies in 12-Day Conflict

Tehran: The deputy commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has asserted that adversaries, led by the United States, quickly capitulated in the recent 12-day conflict against the Islamic Republic.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, speaking at a ceremony in Iran’s western province of Hamedan, stated that before the conflict commenced, the opposing forces had declared their objective to annihilate Iran. However, they soon came to recognize Iran’s power and strength, particularly following an attack on the largest US military base in the region.

General Fadavi elaborated that after the strike on the US military base in Qatar, the US President promptly reached out to the Emir of Qatar to request a ceasefire. He questioned whether the adversaries lacked aircraft, troops, missiles, or financial resources that led them to surrender.

He drew parallels with the past, recalling that during the Sacred Defense, which refers to the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War, Saddam Hussein led attacks against Iran with support from 87 countries. In contrast, in the recent 12-day conflict, the adversaries directly engaged, asserting that it would mark the end of the Islamic Republic. Ultimately, they acknowledged their failure to achieve their objective.

The conflict began on June 13 when Israel launched large-scale assaults against Iran. The United States joined the Israeli offensive, targeting three of Iran’s main nuclear facilities under the pretext of preventing nuclear weapon development. The hostilities ceased on June 24 after Israel was compelled to unilaterally halt its aggression.
