IRGC Targets US Military Assets in Jordan and Kuwait Amid Rising Tensions

Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has launched a series of attacks targeting US military assets in Jordan and Kuwait, leading to significant casualties and damage. The operations are part of the ongoing 'Operation Nasr-2' campaign.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC's Public Relations Department announced on Friday that the attacks were carried out during the fourteenth and fifteenth waves of Operation Nasr-2. The IRGC reported that US fighter jets and refueling aircraft stationed in Jordan were hit in two separate strikes using ballistic missiles and drones, resulting in the destruction of several aircraft and serious damage to others.

In a separate statement, the IRGC detailed a successful strike on a HIMARS launcher and American forces in Kuwait during the fifteenth wave of Operation Nasr-2. The attack targeted multiple bases housing American forces and American-Israeli mercenary counter-revolutionaries, resulting in numerous casualties among the counter-revolutionaries and American special forces.

The conflict traces back to February 28, when the US and Israeli regimes initiated an illegal war of aggression against Iran. This led to a series of retaliatory strikes by Iran, culminating in a ceasefire on April 8 after Iran's resistance and strategic control over the Strait of Hormuz. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at ending hostilities was signed on June 17, brokered by Pakistan. Despite this, recent violations by Washington have prompted Iran's latest military actions.
