Tehran: Ali-Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, emphasized the importance of conducting negotiations on equal terms without coercion or threat. He described such talks as wise and honorable, contrasting them with negotiations held under duress, which he deemed unwise and dishonorable.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran and the U.S. recently engaged in three rounds of indirect talks in Muscat, Oman, and Rome, Italy. These negotiations, mediated by the Omani government, focused on reaching a deal concerning Tehran’s nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions imposed on Iran. Ahmadian credited Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, for transforming threats into a platform of equality and dignity, highlighting that it was the conditions that changed, not Iran’s stance.
Ahmadian noted the unpredictability of the talks’ content and outcomes, emphasizing that Iran’s redlines remain clearly defined and contingent on U.S. behavior. He also addressed the tactics used by adversaries, who employ cognitive and media warfare to sow division and dissatisfaction among Iranians. He called on those who support the Islamic Republic to work towards enhancing national unity.
Regarding regional developments, Ahmadian affirmed the resilience of resistance groups, stating they remain indestructible and continue to confront their true adversaries by bolstering their capabilities.
