Riyadh: Riyadh Municipality officially announced the launch of the first phase of the “Riyadh Parking” project in the Al-Wurud district, set to begin on Saturday, November 2. The municipality said the project aims to organize and manage parking spaces in commercial streets and neighboring residential areas as part of a comprehensive plan to improve quality of life in the capital.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the first phase of the Riyadh Parking project will cover several main areas in Al-Wurud, including Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Street, Prince Sultan bin Salman Street, Musaed Al-Anqari Street, and Abdullah Al-Anqari Street. The objective is to organize parking, reduce improper parking practices and random stops, and prevent vehicles from encroaching into residential areas. These will be achieved by enhancing mobility using modern digital technologies and solutions.
To coincide with the official launch, Riyadh Municipality is organizing awareness events and community meetings in the Al-Wurud, Al-Rahma
niyah, and King Fahd districts to familiarize residents and visitors with the Riyadh Parking system, including instructions on usage and how to issue permits for residents. Such permits will enable residents to use nearby parking in managed areas, thereby helping to prevent vehicle overflow into residential neighborhoods.
The official launch follows the successful completion of a trial phase that lasted several weeks, during which the project website received over 500,000 visits, and more than 7,000 users registered on the Riyadh Parking app. The app, which supports all digital payment methods, is available on iOS and Android.
