Tehran: Israel has a long-standing record of designing and carrying out false flag operations, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei. During a weekly press conference, Baqaei emphasized that many cases are now recognized as proven examples of such operations.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei was questioned about reported confessions by a former British MI5 agent regarding the 1994 AMIA bombing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the explosion at the Israeli embassy in London. He stated that these issues are worthy of attention and careful examination, reiterating Israel’s record of false flag operations.
In response to allegations by the European Council claiming that Iran, Belarus, and North Korea have provided military assistance to Russia in the Ukraine war, Baqaei described the claim as repetitive and reiterated Iran’s stance on resolving conflicts through dialogue, denying any involvement in the Ukraine war.
Baqaei also addressed the simultaneous visit of the Russian deputy prime minister to Iran and Iran’s foreign minister’s visit to Russia. He explained that the timing was coincidental and reflected the extensive relations between Tehran and Moscow, emphasizing the normalcy of diplomatic exchanges.
Regarding the fate of six billion dollars of Iranian funds held in Qatar, Baqaei highlighted it as an example of the United States’ failure to honor commitments. He criticized the US for not fulfilling its promises regarding Iranian assets.
Baqaei rejected allegations by Israel accusing Iran of involvement in the killing of MIT nuclear science professor Nuno F.G. Loureiro, attributing such claims to projection and citing Israel’s history of killings and assassinations.
On Iran’s missile program, Baqaei asserted that it is purely defensive, aimed at protecting the country’s sovereignty, and not open to negotiation. He also noted there is no protocol for inspecting damaged nuclear facilities, accusing Western parties of obstructing cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Commenting on Daesh’s resurgence, Baqaei suggested that the US and Israel should be held accountable, pointing to US acknowledgment of its role in the group’s emergence. He criticized US policies towards Israel, accusing the US of complicity in Israeli crimes and denouncing recent US comments on Iran as hypocritical.
Baqaei condemned a Canadian anti-Iran resolution at the UN as lacking broad support and reiterated Iran’s condemnation of terrorism. He criticized US harassment of commercial vessels as a violation of international law and a threat to global stability.
