Tehran: Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia has warned that Iran will open new fronts against its enemies if they launch another attack on the country. Speaking at a public gathering in Tehran's Valiasr Square on Tuesday, Akraminia highlighted the significant role played by large nighttime gatherings across the country in thwarting enemy plans and boosting the morale of Iran's Armed Forces.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Akraminia stated that Iran's adversaries attempted to divide the nation by targeting the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and senior military commanders, with the ultimate goal of toppling the Islamic Republic and breaking up the country. However, he noted that the Iranian public's strong support and massive street presence countered these plans and bolstered the Armed Forces.
The Army spokesperson praised the 'proud achievements' of Iran's Armed Forces, especially the Army, noting that the current ceasefire period has been treated as a continuation of wartime conditions to enhance combat readiness. Addressing Iran's adversaries, Akraminia asserted that the Islamic Republic could neither be isolated nor defeated.
He issued a stern warning, stating, "If the enemy acts foolishly and once again falls into the trap of the Zionists and carries out another act of aggression against our dear Iran, we will open new fronts against them using new methods and capabilities." He also emphasized Iran's control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, asserting that the situation in the waterway could not revert to its previous state. Akraminia insisted that Iran's foes must respect the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic's legitimate rights.
Since the onset of the US and Israeli war on February 28, Iran has maintained control over the Strait of Hormuz as part of its self-defense measures. Concurrently, Iran has been in discussions with Oman, another coastal nation of the Strait, to establish regulations ensuring free and safe navigation in the waterway.
