Tehran: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has declared that the Islamic Republic of Iran endorses any initiative backed by the Palestinian people to cease Israeli war crimes and genocide in Gaza. He made this statement during a speech before Parliament, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to supporting Palestinian-endorsed solutions to halt ongoing aggression in the region.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf underscored several urgent demands by the Palestinian people and resistance groups, which include the cessation of Israeli aggression, the end of the occupation of Gaza, lifting the siege, and reopening crossings to allow the free entry of essential goods such as food and medicine. Tehran fully supports these demands, as highlighted in Ghalibaf’s address.
The speaker also noted that over the past two years, Iran’s Parliament has actively collaborated with the parliaments of Muslim and other nations to facilitate a ceasefire and halt Israeli bloodshed in Gaza. He described the ceasefire in Gaza as a significant setback for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plans to recover from the challenges faced during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
Ghalibaf criticized Netanyahu’s strategies to restore a sense of security among Israeli occupiers by setting objectives like eliminating Hamas, freeing captives by force, and depopulating Gaza. He remarked that the resilience of Gaza’s people, coupled with the support from the Axis of Resistance, compelled the international community to oppose these actions, leading to a ceasefire that did not fulfill the objectives set by the United States and Israel.
He further elaborated on the current global perspective, stating that despite the heavy human toll, Palestinians have succeeded in imposing their demands on what he referred to as the “criminal regime,” resulting in the Israelis gaining a negative reputation worldwide. Ghalibaf declared that the world has entered a new era of awakening, where Israeli leaders are isolated and disliked, while Palestine stands resilient and independent.
In his concluding remarks, Ghalibaf urged governments, international courts, and judicial bodies to hold Israeli leaders accountable for war crimes committed in Gaza. He paid homage to fallen resistance leaders, saluting martyrs such as Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, who sacrificed their lives in defense against the Zionist enemy.
