Iran, Afghanistan Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Tensions

Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone call on Monday with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the foreign minister of Afghanistan’s Taliban-led government, to discuss the state of bilateral cooperation and recent developments in relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Araghchi underscored the need to promote peace and stability across the region and called for stronger consultations and coordination among neighboring countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Muttaqi welcomed ongoing regional dialogue and thanked Tehran for its diplomatic efforts. The conversation highlighted the importance of fostering peaceful relations and addressing tensions that have recently escalated between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Both ministers expressed commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and emphasized the necessity of regional stability.
